Medical Mission Trips- Nurses make a difference

Speaker Bio – Tzipora Sharon Johnson, CRNFA, RN, CNOR Tzipora Sharon Johnson, CRNFA, RN, CNOR, brings over forty-two years of extensive and diversified experience across all surgical specialties. For more than two decades, she has practiced as a Registered Nurse First Assistant, demonstrating exceptional skill, adaptability, and professionalism in a wide range of clinical settings. A graduate of Hadassah Medical Center’s Nursing and Operating Room programs in Jerusalem, Israel, Ms. Johnson has also completed numerous continuing education and professional development courses through the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She earned her RN First Assistant certification from Southwest Florida College in Tampa, Florida, in 1999. Throughout her distinguished career, Ms. Johnson has combined technical excellence with a deep commitment to service and education. Her global impact includes participating in medical missions to Ghana (2024) and the Philippines (2018), as well as supporting the development of surgical services in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where she established operating room suites, developed sterile core systems, and trained staff in aseptic technique and materials management. Her professional journey has included travel nurse assignments at top institutions such as UCLA, Loyola Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins, where she contributed her expertise to trauma, cardiac, and pediatric surgical teams. Ms. Johnson is a proud and active member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), the Florida Council of Perioperative Registered Nurses (FCORN), and Hadassah. Known for her strong communication skills, organization, and positive attitude, she continues to exemplify dedication, compassion, and leadership in perioperative nursing practice.
